Retreat (of the sea ice)

The title of this sculpture, Retreat (of the sea ice) makes reference to Global Warming
and the melting of the polar ice caps.

Following a record-breaking season of Arctic sea ice decline in 2007, NASA scientists watched the Arctic closely. Although the melt season did not break the record for ice loss, durring a four-week period in August 2008, sea ice melted faster than at any time in history.
