This sculpture was inspired, in part, by research about the safety of storing and cooking in plastic.

Some experts believe it is unsafe to use plastic in the microwave and that some forms of plastic migrate into food at high temperatures. Ingesting plastic may cause hormone disruptions and that alter our genes. In Endocrine (disruption), Miller’s choice to add a doll to the abdomen of the figure questions the health of our planet and future generations of living beings.
